Thanks Ian and Sheri for playing along, the saga is not over. At least until the proper adoption papers are drawn. Keep it coming. Love Gina xoxoxoxoxox P.S. Don't I look stunning !!!!

Cabbage Patch Preemie Brings Charges Against Foster Family

Oxford, Massachusetts - June 27, 2004

A cabbage patch preemie doll sporting Ray-Bans triumphantly strolls down the steps of the MedTrans Office Courthouse on a sunny New England day accompanied by an entourage of attorneys. It was quite a scene in the courtroom today where this preemie levied charges against his foster family of 19 years. His foster family, the Rossis, were tried on counts of neglect, abuse and 11 counts of manslaughter.

These charges come only after the preemie was released by the family's grandmother, having held him hostage for the past 19 years. "I was kept in a dark closet with no food and water. Fortunately I don't need those things, but I was also without any love and attention for what seemed like an eternity," remarks the preemie on being held hostage. He blames the Rossis for allowing the kidnapping to occur in the first place. He has not pressed charges against the grandmother.

...they put Oscar the Grouch over a bare light bulb, burning him to death...

The preemie claims that by losing his birth certificate the Rossis deprived him of his own identity. "I don't even know my own name, " he said in an emotional testimony. It was, at moments, too emotional for the good of his case. In one statement, he recounted that before he joined the Rossis he had heard that, on one occasion, they put Oscar the Grouch over a bare light bulb, burning him to death. However, the statement was stricken from the record as heresy.

The one charge that has the public in an uproar, however, is that of manslaughter. The preemie recounted the day he was taken hostage by the Rossis grandmother and watched as his dear friends were placed atop a moving car that was destined for the highway. He knew their fate. "I will push for the maximum sentence," he says regarding the 11 counts of manslaughter that the Rossis have been charged with. Among the 11 victims were 3 stuffed animals that had only joined the Rossi family a week prior to their demise.

If the Rossis are convicted, a civil trial is expected to follow where the preemie will sue for pain and suffering. After being held hostage and then returned to their custody, the Rossis forced him to pose for photographs (left) that they would later post on numerous Internet websites offering to give him up to anyone willing to take him. "It was so demoralizing, " the preemie says. A local philanthropist, named Sheri, has offered to adopt him and begun to take the necessary legal action.

With a level of publicity rivaling that of the Michael Jackson abuse trial, it has been difficult for the preemie to keep a low profile. "I've gotten over 600,000 letters and I receive hundreds phone calls daily that my attorneys are now fielding. [The support] has been overwhelming." Not all of those letters and phone calls are supportive, however. The preemie has received death threats and other disturbing messages from several right-wing, anti-rights-for-dolls activist groups.

He has been offered special protection from the local authorities, but has refused. "If I hide from the public's view then so will my cause, [and I] don't want that." He told reporters that he does not wish to take vengeance or be a public spectacle, but he will take action where he can to stop others from being so neglected.

Application for Adoption

I'd like to offer to adopt this unclaimed Preemie, seeing as no one else seems to care about him. I think its pretty sad. I just could not bare to see him put into foster care, so I think its safe to say that Ian wouldn't mind if we adopted him. Although we're pretty sure he belongs to Evan, if its not weird for him, then we would love to adopt him into our family.

Gina, that picture of Sam and you at the beach is adorable! I want to see the rest of them too. I didn't get to look at them before.

So did you guys go to Hannah's graduation party? I heard it was pretty fun. Unfortunately Jolene's party was the same day, so we didn't make it to Hannah's. We had a good time though. We had Moe's and Millbury House of Pizza for food, so that was real good. My mom had about 10 bags of nachos left over and a huge thing of nacho cheese. It was real appetizing looking.

We had our last day of class on Saturday also. It was bittersweet I guess, but mostly sweet. We're glad to have the Saturday mornings free again. Its good timing too, because I need to be out in service on Saturday mornings and afternoons. We also had a former Missionary couple who served in Brazil, but are now living, I think in Brockton? It was nice to hear their experiences.

Evan and Sabine, are you guys getting psyched about going on vacation? I'm sure you are. We're going up to the beach next Sunday I think just for the day, so that will be nice.

Hope everyone had a good weekend, and stayed cool! Love,
Sheri

Bom Dia!

Hi everybody! Hope you all had a good weekend. Ours was pretty good. We had our C.O. visit in Portuguese. It was great. Saturday after class we had Br. Sharpless and Br. Furtado there at the hall. Ian said it was doubly encouraging because we had 2 C.O.'s instead of just 1. Still no official news about the progress of the congregation/group, but Br. Furtado said that things were "under consideration" and "something definitive" would take place "soon." I don't think he could've been more vague. We're all still excited anyways, no matter what happens.

We sort of went to the beach yesterday, and hopefully it was the first of many many many more trips this summer!

Hey, if no one's going to claim the long lost preemie, then I may have to adopt him myself...Ian knows how much I love Cabbage Patch Kids!

Hope everyone has a good week. Looks like the weather will be pretty beautiful for the most part! Ciao!
Love,
Sheri

1988

WOW. That is so weird. What a blast from the past. How did he make it? Did we forget to pack him in the backpack? For a second, as I read Gina's blog, I thought that maybe we had just left the backpack in their house or it fell off on their street and they somehow got it. It's just so weird that after 17 years, he just turns up like that. I'm pretty sure that mine was completely bald, so I think it's Evan's. But I can't remember the names. I think Evan remembers them, though. We were talking about it in the not-too-distant past.

I couldn't stop laughing, Gina, when I saw the "full body shot of the long lost preemie" and the way he was posed with his arms out to the sides. Oh, it was just soooo funny.

Quick hello...

Hi guys. I just wanted to post some of the pictures we uploaded. Anyways...more blogging later.

The Long Lost Preemie ( When we last went to visit Grammy and Grampy Rossi Grammy had this guy sitting on her couch and she said Sam could have him, I couldn't help remembering that all of us had cabbage patch dolls and that we were so wrecked when we realized that before we left Grammy's in South Carolina, that our bag of stuffed animals and dolls got left on the roof of the station wagon when we drove off to Massachusetts. So mom called grampy and asked if he'd look on the highway, but there was no hope, the dudes were long gone. But somehow this guy survived. Gram must have had him, there can't be any other way. So now it is the moment of truth. Ian and Evan you have to prove to me which one is the true owner or I will be forced to cut him down the middle. Will the true owner step forth and claim his long lost son. LET THE TRUTH BE KNOWN !!!!!!! Posted by Hello

About Doug

Ev,
Ian may have emailed you about Doug Druzbicki, I don't know. But he died of a heart attack yesterday in Uxbridge while on a job. It appears to have been very quick. He had been having chest pains lately so they were calling each other about every half hour. When she couldn't reach him after a while, she called the Uxbridge Fire and Police Departments and they found him at the bottom of a ladder. He didn't have time to use his cell phone.
He didn't want any services so there won't be anything but to remember him in our own way and to help Paula as much as possible. It is really terrible for her now. She says, "I've lost my best friend". I can't even imagine. I just talked to Liz who's at the house with Marie. I'm going over tomorrow.
This is so horrible..I can't really even believe it. He was only 50.
Sorry to bring such bad news but I felt you would want to know so you could send a card to Paula. The address is 77 Main Street, Oxford, MA 01540-0630.
On a happier note, we had a nice time at Jolene's graduation party yesterday. She got some very generous scholarships which helps a lot!!..... and of course, Gabe made very delicious food. Ian and Gina went in the pool and did whirlpools and Bayba went in for a bit too. She loves it!
Well, bye for now, love you both xoxoxoox
Mumski :)

Remembering Doug

Dear Doug we know that you can't hear us and you are sleeping in peace but we'll remember how kind and sweet you were and so humble. We all look forward to seeing you again as does Paula. It's hard to believe that you are gone, but it will be a short sleep and you will be returned to all that love you and back to your sweetheart and bestfriend. Until then we will do our best to comfort Paula and watch over her until you are back in her arms. Goodnight for now dear brother.... until we meet again on the other side.

Mothra...Remember?

Hi Coots!
Have you heard of Coots and Boots? (The Oil Fire snuffers)
(not the boot or stocking stuffers)
They are cowboy men who become toasted
When trying to avoid becoming roasted.
You may find them in Iraq but not upon a railroad track
For they in the desert do arrive
to become rich and stay alive.

Coot--sieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!..
Remember that sound? I'd open the door and look around...
there came my children running fast...
no one wanted to be the last...
to drink cold milk and have a treat,
hermits and brownies and goodies to eat
Saturday mornings..with friends in tow
syrup and sugar and warm fried dough
Ah, memories warm as sun above..
never forget...the fun...the love......

If Shakespeare blogged

Tis not alone my inky blog, dear mother. Nor customary blogs of solemn ryhme. Nor the windy suspiration of forced blog. No, nor the dejected blog of the visage. Together with all forms, moods and shapes of blog that can denote me truly. These indeed seem, for they are blogs that a man may write. But I have the blog within which passeth show. These are but the trappings and suits of..........blog.

3rd act of Bloglet by William Shakespeare

I'm sorry I had to in the spirit of Mum's old English style blogging.

Aye or any show that you'll show him be not you ashamed to show he'll not shame to tell you what he meant!

Try to say that three times fast!!!!

Faulty rhyme

Who hath wrought such a travesty
upon the fruit of my belly!!!
And who be the "Support Dog" of fame,
who calleth my son MORON, though that be thy middle name?? (kiddingeth)

But hath come the time,
for Mothra to bring an end
to all the bad rhyme
that sons do send.

Mothramom....xooxoxoxoxo

Yuh muttha

My poor son, you have gone over the edge!!
We must get you back to saniteee!
Why don't you swim with the manatee?
He will help to set you free
and get you back to sanitee!

It is hot. I hate the heat. I hate it heartily.
The hate with which I hate the heat is a hot hate. The hot hate that I hate the heat with is a hotter hate, hotter than the heated hate that I hated the hot heat with heartily. But we have a pool.....

Pa and I are just relaxing now with the air conditioner on. If you guys get too hot you can come here for the air or the pool..

Give us a call...
Love you all...
Have a ball...
love the fall...

Mothra....XOXOXOOXOXOXO

Return of the Sith...og

I have returned!!! Support dog called me on the phone and said, "You MORON!!! You're logging in with the wrong username! Don't call me again until you take a course on how to use a computer...and if you have some of those Snausages...I LOVE THOSE!"

So, I thanked him and came straight here to make my first post in quite awhile. So I'm back again and I can blog whenever I want!!! So how is everybody?!! Oh, right, I should just read the blog! OK, so I'm good. How are you? I mean...yeah I'm ok.

Things could be better I work. I'm sure you can tell that my sanity is at risk. ***as risk, risk, risk echoes out of the swirling abyss of insanity that I'm plummeting into***
I'm hoping that I get hired for a new position where the insanity level is actually rated at about 116.374 on a scale of 1 to 150 whereas where I am now, the rating is riding on 172/173!!!!

But Sheri and I did have a great time for our anniversary. It was nice. The weather is great, even though it's hot. I love it. I wish it could stay like this forever. I guess it could if I moved to the desert...AH HA HA HA HA!!!! Umm...*cough*, excuse me. (Sanity check.)

Well, I'm going to sign off now before I get REALLY crazy. Besides I have a swirling abyss to attend to!!! ***ECHO***..end to, ...end to, ...end to***ECHO***

Eight syllables or poopy log
Each line must be or I'm a cog

Can't log in with my ID slog
Waiting to hear from support dog (or cat, whoever's working 1st shift)
But love raising those angus og

Go for a swim with a sea dog

To Blog or Not to Blog...

Just trying to follow with Evan's theme of creative bloggerized phrases...But there's no question! Of course the answer is to blog...Always blog. Yup that's a good general rule to follow.

Seriously, its great to hear from everyone. That's great that you and Sabine are going to get to go away for a while, Evan. When are you guys leaving for the Alps? Its nice to have that break, especially during this time of year, when it seems like a million things are going on at once. I'm pretty certain that we have some kind of plans going on every day of the weekend for the next two months. Most of it is a good kind of busy though. We have our C.O. visit next week. Its sort of a mini visit just for our Worcester "group." I say "group" because its not officially a real group yet, but we're sort of hoping something definitive happens after his visit. We're especially hoping that it does become a group, as part of the English hall in Worcester, since that would be easiest for most of us. I'm pretty sure none of us enjoy the drive to Lowell. But we'll see. We're trying not to get our hopes up too much. I know these things can sometimes take a long time to actually get going.

We've officially switched to Portuguese congregation in Lowell. Ian has his first talk in a few weeks; Bible Highlights I think. I'm a householder next month too. That'll be slightly nerve-wracking. Exciting though. Anyways...keep up the good blogging! Love,
Sheri

The House of Sand and Blog...

Sorry, I had to do it. It's the name of a movie. I was trying to be clever.

I'm back on the blog after a long break. It's really a good thing for us to do this. I just have to get in the habit of checking the blog everyday, like checking the news (or cleaning my ears). :)

Well, things are going well here thus far. We have our C.O. visit coming up next week and I'm hoping to have some time during the week to go out with the group. I'll get to join them for the first servants meeting in the new congregation. It should be interesting. He's a nice brother. Unusual but nice.

I say unusual because one time he was visiting and Sabine and I noticed he was wearing some kind of sneakers, but with a suit and everthing. He seems really eccentric. That's why I like him. Sabine and I were saying that it would be hilarious if he was just walking around with pink bunny slippers on or something. Crazy imaginations I know.

Well, Sabine and I are looking forward to visiting the Alps next month for a few days. I really miss going to New Hampshire every year, so it will be nice to see the mountains again. Also, we can't wait to go to Spain in August. We're going to get fried! It's usually between 35 and 40 degrees celsius then. It's really far south in Malaga.

Anyway, keep on blogging on heavens door and don't give up. It's nice to hear from everyone.

Love to Ma, Pa, Ian, Sheri, Gina and of course.....Sammy.

Talk to you soon.
Ev

Yes Some blogging!!

Mothra here...and Bungina and Papa Rossi hanging out watching Storm Stories at 11:43 p.m. wondering if anyone was blogging! Haven't heard from Ev and Sabine lately!

Glad you and Ian had such a good time. Talked to your Mom today...Congratulations to Jolene on five new baby piggies! Gettin kinda tired...think I'll go to bed now....Love you all....

What, no blogging?

What's up with this...its been weeks and no blogging! What's wrong with us? I guess no news is not necessarily bad news, right? So how is everyone enjoying this pretty beautiful weather? A nice change from last week, huh?

Ian and I went to Boston last weekend for our anniversary, and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect weekend. We went to the movies and a really great restaurant called Sonsie on Newbury Street. Wicked good food. Then we went on the whale watch on Monday morning, and Ian got some really great pictures, I think. We'll have to post some once we get them developed. Then we went to another movie and then to the Red Sox game. Too bad they lost so badly. Next time they had better win!

Hope everyone is having a fairly good week...hopefully not sick still...talk to everyone soon...Love,
Sheri
